Review MACGREGOR 6/7 Mt Tourney Irons Vintage

The 1966 MacGregor Tourney RMT2 irons are a nostalgic and highly collectible set of golf clubs that hark back to the golden era of golf equipment. These irons are a testament to MacGregor's rich history in the golf industry, which dates back to the early 20th century.

The RMT2 irons feature a classic, rounded cavity-back design, which was popular during the 1960s and 70s. This design provided excellent forgiveness and consistency, making them an ideal choice for both amateur and professional golfers. The clubs have a polished chrome finish, which not only adds to their aesthetic appeal but also helps to reduce glare on the course.

The 1966 MacGregor Tourney RMT2 irons are forged from high-quality steel, ensuring a solid and responsive feel at impact. The heads are compact and well-balanced, offering excellent control and precision. The bottom edge of the clubs has a rounded, cambered shape, which promotes smooth turf interaction and reduces the risk of digs or thin shots.

The shafts on these irons are made of high-tensile steel and are designed to provide a good balance between flex and stability. They are also fitted with traditional, low-profile grips, which offer a secure and comfortable grip during play.

Overall, the 1966 MacGregor Tourney RMT2 irons are a must-have for any golf collector or anyone who appreciates the history and craftsmanship of vintage golf equipment. These clubs not only offer a unique playing experience but also serve as a reminder of the rich heritage of the sport.

Pros of buying 1966 MacGregor Tourney RMT2 irons:

1. Vintage appeal: These irons have a classic and timeless look that many golfers appreciate.

2. Collectibility: As a vintage model, the 1966 MacGregor Tourney RMT2 irons may become more valuable over time, making them a potential investment.

3. Unique feel: The forged construction and softer steel used in the clubs may provide a unique feel that modern irons cannot replicate.

4. Improved performance: While vintage clubs may not offer the same level of performance as modern clubs, many players find that they enjoy the challenge of playing with older equipment.

Cons of buying 1966 MacGregor Tourney RMT2 irons:

1. Lack of modern technology: Vintage clubs do not have the same level of technology as modern clubs, which may result in less distance and accuracy.

2. Limited availability: Vintage clubs, especially ones as old as the 1966 MacGregor Tourney RMT2, may be harder to find and may require more effort to track down.

3. Higher cost: Vintage clubs can be more expensive than modern clubs, especially if they are in good condition or have a high level of collectibility.

4. Not suited for everyone: Vintage clubs may not be the best choice for players who prioritize maximum distance and accuracy over vintage appeal or collectibility.

Conclusion:

If you are a collector or simply appreciate the vintage charm of golf clubs, the 1966 MacGregor Tourney RMT2 irons may be a worthwhile investment. However, keep in mind that they may not offer the same level of performance as modern clubs, and they may be more expensive. Ultimately, the decision to buy these irons should be based on your personal preferences, budget, and playing style.

Recommendation:

If you are considering buying the 1966 MacGregor Tourney RMT2 irons, I recommend doing your research first. Look for reputable sellers, read reviews, and make sure you understand the condition of the clubs before making a purchase. Additionally, consider trying the clubs out before buying if possible, to ensure that they are a good fit for your game.
